PC Body Camera Docking Station

Managing digital evidence can be a daunting task, especially for law enforcement agencies that need to handle large amounts of data. That’s where Audax DEMS (Digital Evidence Management System) and docking station solutions come in.

Audax Digital Evidence Management System

Audax offers DEMS for both of our Bio-AX and 20-1 cameras and these are connected with the Docking Station. Both offer a wide range of functionalities and are similar in their capabilities. The system is designed to manage Officer to Camera assignments via onboard QR code and also allows users to fully manage their recorded media.

Collect & Store Body Worn Video Digital Evidence

With Audax DEMS, you can collect and store digital evidence recorded on a BWV camera, and tag it with key words, case numbers, and other metadata to facilitate easy retrieval. For role-based functions, you can assign different permissions to different users or groups, giving organisations full control over user access rights, retention tables, and more.

Capable of Large Data Processing

The system is capable of processing large amounts of data securely, with redundancy backup and load balancing mechanisms in place for reliability. Audax offers both cloud-based and locally hosted servers for centralised storage and control, and automatic or timed data upload to simplify data management. You can also set up data retention policies per file type or all data types for ease of use.

Secure Video Viewing

With built-in AES media player for secure video viewing, the system offers role-based access control and user authentication for added security. In addition, you can issue secure one-time share links to other authorised external persons, making sharing evidence easy and secure.

Streamline Your Digital Evidence Management with Audax

Audax DEMS and docking station solutions offer a streamlined approach to digital evidence management. With its wide range of functionalities, secure data processing, and ease of use, Audax DEMS is a must-have tool for any organisation that needs to manage digital evidence.

In today’s world, it’s important to have complete situational awareness, especially when it comes to monitoring cameras and user movements.

That’s where Audax CMS (Camera Management System) comes in. Designed for both Bio-AX and 20-1 camera systems, Audax CMS is a simple-to-use, web-based, and fully secure software monitoring program that provides complete situational awareness of all camera/user movements and actions.

Ideal for control rooms, Audax CMS offers dynamic management of ongoing live situations and has user SOS Panic Alerts for emergency situations.

You can also analyse past camera actions, locations, and more, allowing for a 360-degree audit trail of your digital evidence gathering for retrospective search. For data security, you can assign different permissions to different users, giving organisations complete control over user access rights.

The system is capable of processing large amounts of data and live video streaming, and it accepts virtually all IP-based cameras, including vehicle, mobile, fixed, traffic, and more. Audax CMS can be cloud-based or locally hosted, offering centralised storage and control.

With role-based access control and user authentication, the system ensures security, and you can view live or historic bread crumb trails of camera location-based activities. You can also converse with users via PTT or send text messages (certain models only) and harness the power of Google Maps via automated Geo Fence Alerting.

For added security, Audax CMS offers the ability to manage lost or stolen devices by issuing a Stun/Wipe command (Bio-AX). The Bio-AX camera is ONVIF Profile S compatible, allowing for integration into other compatible platforms, and it also offers the unique feature of remotely commanding camera recording.

Audax CMS offers complete situational awareness and dynamic management of live situations, making it an essential tool for control rooms and organisations that need to monitor user movements and camera actions.

In today’s world, it is important to ensure that data is kept secure and only accessed by those who are approved. This is particularly true for law enforcement agencies and security workers who use body-worn video (BWV) cameras to capture footage of their interactions with the public. In the UK, the Home Office and College of Policing provide technical guidance requirements for Police use of BWV cameras (but these are generally accepted as the authority for security professionals as well). One requirement is that they must have non-removable media storage within a sealed unit for data security and integrity.

Audax® BWV cameras, which are manufactured in the UK, are designed to meet these strict requirements. The cameras provide high-quality HD video and audio on secure non-removable memory. The camera is a sealed unit, and the standard 32 GB memory is ‘fixed’ to the motherboard. This means that the memory cannot be removed and it is ‘tagged’ to only work with the particular motherboard. By its unauthorised removal it will disable the entire memory and prove useless for data recovery.

All recordings are also secured by AES 256 encryption, which is one of the strongest and most recognised encryption methods available. This encryption is not only on the recordings held in the camera memory, but it also on the live streaming video, being transmitted to a control room. All video is protected by AES 256 encryption and the decoder / decryption media player (for secure video viewing) is hosted in Audax DEMS. Without access to this software, the video playback will just show a green screen and be useless to anyone. Our docking stations also have role-based access control and user authentication for security.

One of the other key features of Audax® BWV cameras is their password encryption. The cameras are password protected, and the settings are secured with the Audax® camera management software (CMS). This ensures that only authorised personnel have access to the footage and settings, adding an additional layer of security to the device.

Overall, Audax® BWV cameras are best-in-class for law enforcement agencies and security workers who require secure and reliable body-worn video cameras. Our adherence to the UK Home Office’s technical guidance requirements, non-removable media storage, and strong encryption methods make us an ideal choice for those who require the highest level of data security and integrity.

Gold Zero hours accreditation

Audax are thrilled to announce that they are now accredited by Zero Hours Justice as a No Zero Hours Gold Employer. Previously a standard member, the progression into a gold standard member is a real achievement to Audax, highlighting their commitment to supporting each and every person in the team.

During the cost of living crisis, having a reliable income is more important than ever before.  Zero hour contracts take away this security from the employee, denying them guaranteed hours and a guaranteed wage. On top of this, employers can cancel or move work shifts with minimal warning, leaving employers on the back foot.

At Audax, employees are highly valued. That’s why, as of 1st September 2022, they achieved this new gold standard accreditation. This accreditation highlights their commitment to fairer hours and working contracts by refusing to use zero hour contracts, guaranteeing their employees the hours they’re contracted to work. Plus benefits such as sickness, holiday, and other allowances.

To be eligible for the No Zero Hours Gold Employer Accreditation, Zero Hours Justice ask that companies:

  • Don’t and won’t employ anyone directly on a zero hours contract
  • Don’t and won’t employ anyone indirectly on a zero hours contract via any third party contractor or agency. This applies to third parties that provide workers (for example temporary staff, cleaners etc.)

Audax are proud to not employ anyone directly or indirectly on a zero hour contract. They do what they can in support of employment in the UK, including also adopting the Good Business Charter many years ago.

Speaking about this new accreditation, Audax Owner and Managing Director, Adam Liardet, said:

“We’re delighted to be gold standard members with Zero Hours Justice. Ensuring the health and happiness of our team is a top priority for us at Audax and something we work hard to achieve. Zero hour contacts can cause havoc on lives, and at a time where a consistent income is crucial to families across the country, we’re committed to never signing zero hour contacts.”

Applying for accreditation is easy and something Audax would highly recommend. Find out more here: https://www.zerohoursjustice.org/accreditation.html

As one of 156 organisations this year to have been recognised by the UK government for their outstanding support towards the armed forces community, Audax are proud to be among the few who have received the honour of the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award 2022.

Representing the highest badge of honour, the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award identifies businesses that employ and support those who serve, veterans and their families. Until this year’s cohort, only 30 micro companies had ever achieved this accolade.

Speaking of the award, Owner and Managing Director, Adam Liardet commented: “I am thrilled we have received this honour and it means a great deal to Audax and to me personally. We at Audax pride ourselves on having a team composed of 50% service veterans, including myself. This is a cornerstone to our business culture and Audax are proud to support veterans and the armed forces community both within business and the wider community.”

Audax recognises the contribution that the members of the Armed Forces make to the nation through their service and has signed the Armed Forces Covenant to pledge Audax’s support of the Armed Forces Community. As part of the pledge, Audax supports: the employment of veterans; employees who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces (including the establishment of Reservist HR procedures); and local cadet units, either in local community or local schools, where possible.

For example, Mike Pitt, an Audax Company Director and Veteran Submariner, is a volunteer guide for HMS Courageous. The Courageous Volunteer Guides (CVGs), a group of former Royal Navy personnel, provide visitors with an in-depth tour of Courageous and the Submarine Service. As the name suggests, they are all volunteers and receive absolutely no payment for the work they do.

Audax believe we all have a role to play in ensuring that the Armed Forces community is not disadvantaged by service, and by employing veterans the company gains hugely from their direct experience of the operational environment, and their personal appreciation of customer needs and aspirations. When people leave the armed forces, they do so with unique skills and experiences that directly benefit business. Their potential contribution should never be underestimated and thus are Audax’s preferred first choice in any recruitment that Audax undertakes.

A large number of customers around the globe have also served in their respective countries armed forces so the Audax team share a “bond” with all. It is this “bond” of experience that provides an instant mutual respect and trust. You will always find the Audax stand at an exhibition or event with the Regiments Flag as a “rally point” for all “Once a Rifleman always a Rifleman”. Even the company name comes from part of a regimental motto – Celer et Audax (Swift and Bold).

Minister for Defence People Leo Docherty said: “Regardless of size, location or sector, employing members of the Armed Forces community is good for businesses. These awards recognise the outstanding support for our Armed Forces from employers across the UK and I would like to thank and congratulate each and every one.”

To win an award from the Ministry of Defence, organisations must show that they provide 10 extra paid days leave for reservists and have supportive HR policies in place for veterans, reserves, Cadet Force adult volunteers and spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces. They must also advocate the benefits of supporting those within the Armed Forces community, by encouraging others to sign the Armed Forces Covenant and engage in the Employer Recognition Scheme.

More than 150 organisations have been recognised by the UK Government for their outstanding support towards the Armed Forces community.

Representing the highest badge of honour, the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards identifies businesses that employ and support those who serve, veterans and their families.

A total of 156 organisations have been recognised this year, the ninth year of the awards scheme.

Of the winners, 44% are either micro-organisations or small and medium sized enterprises, while 33% are public organisations. This demonstrates both the growth in numbers and the depth of supportive employers.

Councils, charities, blue light services, retail and insurance companies are among those that have been recognised.

Minister for Defence People Leo Docherty said:

Regardless of size, location or sector, employing members of the Armed Forces community is good for businesses.

These awards recognise the outstanding support for our Armed Forces from employers across the UK and I would like to thank and congratulate each and every one.

The Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards continues to grow in strength each year, with a current total of 643 holders. Organisations must reapply after five years in order to retain their Gold Award status.

Among those recognised include Morgan Stanley, IBM, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Admiral Group and Groundwork.

Head of People at Admiral Group Rhian Langham said:

We’re thrilled to be recognised with the prestigious Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award. Inclusivity is a key part of our culture at Admiral, and we’re proud to create an environment where everyone feels supported.

Our colleagues with Armed Forces connections have such a positive impact on our business, particularly through their impressive resilience and adaptability, and we’re committed to continue giving them the support they need.

Executive Director at Groundwork Greater Manchester Mike Ormond said:

Groundwork Greater Manchester are extremely proud and delighted to receive an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence. Our work with the Armed Forces Community, especially supporting veterans to gain new skills and employment, has become a cornerstone of the trust’s activity and this award is a reflection of the amazing outcomes and advocacy services our Veteran’s Employment Team deliver.

We are also fully committed as an organisation to supporting the Armed Forces veterans and reservists who are employed at Groundwork as we recognise the breadth of transferable skills, knowledge and experience they bring to the company as well as the service they have given to our country.

Audax® Body Worn video cameras (BWV) have been used by the Emergency Services, Security Professionals and Parking Civil Enforcement staff across the Globe since, our industry pioneering days, in 2005.We led the World in 2006 with the UK Home Office producing the first ever BWV standards and Audax® were also the First UK Security SME ever funded by the European Union H2020 Instrument.

We are approved Members of Made in Britain, the register of British Manufacturers and accredited to the Good Business Charter which incorporates being a Living Wage Employer. Members too of BAPCO the leading UK Association for all professionals using or developing Public Safety technology and all staff members are members of The Guild of Security Industry Professionals.

Headquartered in Plymouth, and with satellite offices in both Canterbury and Brussels, Belgium; the Audax® team is predominantly composed of service veterans and are proud to have been awarded the Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Award of the Armed Forces Covenant.

We design and develop our products and we perform all final assembly, testing and quality control functions for our products in our Plymouth facility.

We believe our body worn video solutions demonstrate industry innovation because we’re different.

Parking innovations often revolve around revenue gathering and automation. At Audax, we believe that the people who work in the industry, such as revenue enforcement officers, are the most vital industry asset and they, being at the “coal face” are the ones most at risk. It is people that matter and it is people that need protection.

Audax® cameras have been designed and built with our customers’ needs at their heart. Being highly visible and overt is key in aiding members of the public recognise it as a camera and thus potentially deterring any attacks, but also ensuring it better meets legislation. The cameras also have an SOS button to summon assistance if needed from the control room, where with the cameras inbuilt Wi-Fi / 4G and GPS tracking, live video and audio can be streamed and operatives in the control room can view, locate and assist their colleagues on the annual licence free CMS software. This feature not only provides managers oversight and situational awareness of their assets ‘on the ground’, but it ensures complete oversight for compliance and professional standards; making this a valuable tool in insuring professionalism.

Data security is paramount and being an all-in-one device with no tethering to insecure mobile phones, security is further enhanced by providing the ability to remotely ‘stun’ a lost camera device. The camera can be sent a command by the control room that can “wipe” the memory even though all our cameras are encrypted with AES 256 Encryption technology making them suitable to meet the BS 8593: 2017 and aid in organisations compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In recent years we have improved button size and battery life. The docking stations have contact point charging and data download capabilities which remove the need to ‘fiddle’ with USB cables. There is also QR code automated officer to camera assignment on the docking station which removes the labour-intensive pre-shift camera set up and end-shift camera evidence download.

All of these features make BWV from Audax® the most technically advanced, user friendly, Body Worn Video cameras in the world and culminates years of our investment and experience in aiding and protecting our partners.

ttps://www.tf1.fr/tf1/jt-13h/videos/cameras-pietons-les-polices-municipales-sequipent-31820831.html

Take a look below at a rough translation of the report…

  • The cameras are clearly visible to the members of the public.
  • After giving a warning, they are easy to turn on with a press of the front button.
  • In summer our population goes form 6,000 to 100,000 and with all of the tourists the “problems” increase.
  • The camera is very reassuring for us the police and supports us to evidence our professionalism.
  • It allows us to show our actions are easily justifiable.
  • The cameras are fully supported by the inhabitants.
  • 1st interview -They provide reassurance.
  • 2nd Interview – They should have been actioned a long time ago. Allows us to see things differently and decrease petty crime.
  • The cameras cover a full shift of 8 hours and on return to the Police station the videos are immediately downloaded onto the server via the docking station.
  • The docking Station is for downloading the video and for recharging the batteries.
  • The Police officers do not touch or see the videos everything is automatic and very transparent.
  • The Police Officers have no access to the images. They can’t see them and thus can’t alter them.
  • Videos are kept for 6 months and can be used in court if required.
