Audax renews Prime Sponsorship of Ambulanciersunie in Belgium for 2022

Pioneers in Body Worn Video technology manufacturing, Audax® are pleased to announce their continued support of the Ambulanciersunie, an independent union that serves and supports paramedics working in Belgium.

Ambulanciersunie work to protect the interests of paramedics that work in Belgium. The Union is run by a board of paramedics from various medical disciplines. They know first-hand the issues facing these workers, and the pressures they are put under, and as such, are appropriately placed to represent the network.

The union work to campaign for a better future and tangible improvements for all their members including paramedics, 112 service staff and non-emergency patient transport workers.

They have devised four key objectives to deliver on their goals, to protect the rights and interests of paramedics, to provide more financial resources for the ambulance service, to provide high-quality training and better working conditions.

Audax and the Ambulanciersunie have been working closely together since 2019 to provide bodycams for private and organisational use in French, Dutch and German speaking countries.

The pioneering bodycam technology provides a vital tool for capturing footage from the frontline, at the exact moment of an incident, as well as being an effective deterrent for violence.

In 2020, it came to light that 60% of mild cases of aggression and 40% of serious cases of aggression against aid workers were dismissed in court, which the Ambulanciersunie and Audax are fighting against as this figure is much too high.

Adam continued, “Attacks on ambulance personnel and paramedics are unfortunately a frequent, but underreported fact. Health facilities such as ambulances have been burned and burgled over the decades, while personnel and patients have been assaulted, injured, intimidated, and threatened. This is not right. It is why we are keen to help those who help us in the UK, Belgium and elsewhere. We have repeatedly proven our body worn cameras mitigate certain risks, however having a product that provides indisputable evidence to support a prosecution is vital.”

The ability to wear a body worn camera allows independent footage of a situation to be captured and footage replayed for a highly accurate and insightful account of any event in question. Medics will have the ability to wear their cameras and start recording if members of the public or patients become aggressive, with the captured film made available to the police if required.

Recently the Federal Police Liaison Officer at the German Embassy in Kyviv gave the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine a large number of Audax cameras as part of a deal to help strengthen the security of border control and to aid in the implementation of European standards. 

The cameras will be used to help those serving the capital’s airports and as part of an ongoing German cooperation to combat organised crime, terrorism and other serious crimes.

Visit to Africa – November 2021

Audax Visit to Africa

Our owner and MD, Adam Liardet has been back in Africa this month, again visiting Oltiyani village in the Amboseli National Park in Kenya, where Audax sponsors a school. Living in and around the Kenyan parks are the pastoral Maasi communities. Sharing, living and co-existing alongside the wildlife, these nomadic cattle herders travel with the seasons, following the grazing / water. In the Kenyan heat, finding water whilst protecting and caring for their livestock are daily challenges that take up all hours of the day. Understandably, formal schooling and education aren’t high on the list of priorities for some, and the constant daily battles in life isn’t exactly conducive to the school calendar as we know it.

The Village Audax support want to protect their Heritage, traditions and way of life, but the people of Oltiyani Village also want to provide their children with the opportunity to enjoy an education that will open up more potential opportunities for their futures.

We’re proud to be able to provide valuable resources for children attending the school such as pens and pencils, as well as much needed funds.

We’re also proud to provide logistical support and assistance to Little Dresses for Africa – Belgium & France. 60kgs of handmade and upcycled clothes were provided to the children in Baraka Homes Orphanage in Kayole Soweto, Nairobi.

Founded in 2006, Baraka is home to 289 children, all from a range of backgrounds. Some children were orphaned by HIV/AIDS, some were abandoned, others abused, lost and found, along with other heartbreaking stories. The children’s ages range from less than a year old, to adulthood. Baraka gives these children a home, as well as essential support and safety, giving them all another chance in life.

The children’s home in Kenya does not have wealthy sponsors; instead, they are reliant on the good hearts of supporters and sponsors, such as LDFA. Through kind and generous donations, such as handmade clothing and toys, they are able to provide these children who would otherwise go without.

Audax informed of impending order for significant BWV supply contract

Audax Global Solutions Ltd, world leaders in pioneering body worn video (BWV) technology, today announced that it had received notification that it will receive an order to provide 20,000 Audax® Bio-AX® cameras to a national police force. The roll-out of body worn cameras, valued at approx. £13.2 million ($17M / €15.2M), ranks as globally significant and is expected to start in December 2021 with final delivery completed by May 2022.

The Cameras will be deployed to assist in the Government’s aim to modernise policing, assisting with border protection and assisting security operatives dealing with organised crime. Proudly supporting the Plymouth community this V J Day 75th + 1.

This weekend is a time for the people of Plymouth to come together to remember the end of WWII.

This is a special occasion for so many of our team, which is made up of many ex-service people, as are most of our contractors and consultants too. In fact, in recognition of our support to the defence community, Audax were proud to have been awarded the Silver employer recognition scheme Award of the Armed Forces Covenant.

As a local business, with headquarters in The Millfields, Plymouth, we want to do what we can, not only to commemorate the incredible sacrifices of our armed forces, but also to support our neighbours, friends and family here in Devon. Starting with a Memorial service at Minster Church of St. Andrew, members of the public are then invited to let their hair down and celebrate with some great music, just as the good people of Plymouth did 76 years ago on Sunday 15th August.

Having proudly been a direct sponsor of the last two aggression against EMS awareness campaigns with SPOED 112, the UK based company is now set to be the presenting partner at a symposium in Antwerp on violence against emergency workers and police on 27th October 2021.

Audax is keen to play an active role alongside SPOED 112 to ‘aid those who help us’ in the UK, in Belgium and elsewhere as body worn cameras are a proven solution to mitigate the risk of aggression and violence within the sector. Audax® wins key project with Mitie for prestigious JLL managed Regent Street development with next generation Bio-AX® body worn video

Audax is proud to announce it has secured the provision of a significant number of their latest body worn video cameras, Bio-AX®, for Mitie Security’s frontline security team in Regent Street. Owned by The Crown Estate and managed by JLL, Regent Street is renowned as a high-profile location featuring some of the most luxurious and well-known retail and lifestyle brands in the world. As part of Mitie’s security provision for the area, street patrols will now have the added reassurance provided by Audax’s world-leading body worn video solutions.

Audax has been highly involved in implementing this project from the very beginning, not only supplying the hardware and software required but also installation, training, and ongoing support.

With Bio-AX®, Mitie has access to world leading technology. Bio-AX® can be remotely commanded to record and live stream video and audio, and report current GPS location, all from the control room. Previously this has been a choice for the wearer alone, (which it still is). However, managers now have oversight and situational awareness of their assets ‘on the ground’, as well as complete visibility to confirm compliance and professional standards are met.
